Moreover if you used Form 8888 to allocate refunds to more than one account, the IRS ignored all direct deposit info. This especially impacted clients with RALs, since RALs typically allocate some of the refund to the bank, some to the preparer, some to any IRA or annuity account the clieent might have been sold, and if anything is left over, to the taxpayer's credit card or checking/savings account. -- ArtKamlet at a o l dot c o m Columbus OH K2PZH -- << ------------------------------------------------------- > << The foregoing was not intended or written to be used, > << nor can it used, for the purpose of avoiding penalties > << that may be imposed upon the taxpayer. > << > << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting posts > << to this newsgroup as well as our anti-spamming policy > << are at www.asktax.org. > << Copyright (2007) - All rights reserved. > << ------------------------------------------------------- > |

Not true. If your 2007 tax return had direct deposit information on it, the stimulus check was direct deposited into that same account. | I am completing my 2008 tax return and there is a part at the end regarding a tax credit if you did not receive you economic stimulus check. I thought at first that I did not receive anything but then I thought I might have. I should have received it by July and I would suspect it would be a round number. I called my bank about deposits. They do not have a record of payers but there was a deposit for $2500 in July. That seems a bit high for the ESC but I may have deposited it with something else. Does anyone know of another I can see if I received this check? Many thanks in advance, Peter. -- << ------------------------------------------------------- > << The foregoing was not intended or written to be used, > << nor can it used, for the purpose of avoiding penalties > << that may be imposed upon the taxpayer. > << > << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting posts > << to this newsgroup as well as our anti-spamming policy > << are at www.asktax.org. > << Copyright (2007) - All rights reserved. > << ------------------------------------------------------- > |
