| My access is back! I have a friend coming over to help fill out his forms. He has had help from the policeman's club before. As a policeman, he is required to have either a home phone or cell phone where the county can call him. He was told that because he is required to have it, he can take it as a business deduction. My opinion would be that if it is used for personal use as well, it would have to be pro-rated. If the county never calls him, and he ever uses the phone for personal use, there would be no deduction. Does this sound correct? -- << ------------------------------------------------------- > << The foregoing was not intended or written to be used, > << nor can it used, for the purpose of avoiding penalties > << that may be imposed upon the taxpayer. > << > << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting posts > << to this newsgroup as well as our anti-spamming policy > << are at www.asktax.org. > << Copyright (2007) - All rights reserved. > << ------------------------------------------------------- > |
