See the Schedule D instructions. You use "various" as the purchase date and> Towards the end of 2008, I sold all of the stock that I'd bought > during each quarter. | Hello, This past year, I participated in my company's ESPP every quarter. Towards the end of 2008, I sold all of the stock that I'd bought during each quarter. Now that it's time to fill out my short-term capital gains forms, I'm having trouble figuring out what to put for my purchase date, and cost/basis because I'd been making purchases (at different prices, obviously) throughout the year, since my stock sale is listed on a single row despite the fact that it represents multiple purchases. Any help here would be extremely useful. (Sorry if this is a dumb question...) Thanks, Ben -- << ------------------------------------------------------- > << The foregoing was not intended or written to be used, > << nor can it used, for the purpose of avoiding penalties > << that may be imposed upon the taxpayer. > << > << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting posts > << to this newsgroup as well as our anti-spamming policy > << are at www.asktax.org. > << Copyright (2007) - All rights reserved. > << ------------------------------------------------------- > |
