In tax year 2007, I sold mutual funds I had held for a long time and
paid tax on the dividends and capital gains. I did not bother to
adjust my basis for reinvested dividends that I understand would have
reduced my overall taxes. Is it too late to go back and re-calculate
my taxes and take this credit?
