Rent and utilities are home office expenses. If the 2nd phone line is
100% business use then it's cost is 100% deductible whether you have a
qualified home office or not.

Default business expense

I am a contractor and received a 1099-misc. I used my apartment to
conduct the business. Should I report the rent, utility, 2nd phone
line under "business expense" or "home office"?
