Well, in all fairness, I should admit that I went to bed last night
(early this morning) in a pretty foul mood because of Tax Cut, but after
a pretty good nights rest, I got up this morning determined to "ride the
bull" today and not "let the bull ride me"! Since my tax program is not
very complicated, and not many changes from last year, I decided to blow
off the Tax Cut easy route and take a different approach. I moved
through it, form by form (had to struggle with a few to get them to take
the data) but now I feel a little better about it once I got the hang of
it. I'm almost finished (awaiting a couple of K1s, which should be a
piece of cake) and think it's pretty clean. I haven't run the final
check and that may blow it, but as I say, I feel a lot better about it.
I guess if I hadn't been accustomed to Turbo Tax, I wouldn't have had so
much heart burn. However, I am not a convert and will return to TurboTax
next year! I still think it's a lot clearer and easier to follow!! I
guess its a lot like living with a woman, after 20 or 25 years you tend
to overlook the shortcomings.

Good luck with yours!!

I wish I had seen your post earlier. I personally am pissed at TurboTax
for reasons you attribute to TaxCut. I just received a copy of TaxCut
today. I was going to try Tax Act but I am using a Macintosh and I was
not able to find that Tax Act would work on a Mac.

When TaxCut first came out with a Mac version some years ago, I thought
that I would try it. It was awful. I was hoping that my previous
experience was just trouble with the "first model year," but from what
you say that may not be the case.

Default TurboTax vs TaxCut

I've been using TurboTax for several years and it seemed simple enough,
easy to follow and move around in. For some reason I let a friend
convince me to try Tax Cut this year. I have never been so frustrated
in my life!! I seem to be going in circles!!. I enter something and it
doesn't show up where it should, can't find the source of some entries
and am generally disgusted!! Tomorrow, it's back to the store for Turbo Tax.

My friend is experiencing the same situation and has apologized for
recommending it. I was wondering if anyone is having the same problem
with Tax Cut--Or, perhaps has compared the two.
