If she took the course so that she would have the background to get into the business, it's not deductible. If she already had the job when she took the course, I'd think she could. | Hi. I hope someone can help me with my granddaughter's tax forms. Last year she took a course in Dog Grooming, as a start to a career in the vet support business. She is now employed as a groomer, and the course was a required pre requisit for employment. Is the cost of that course deductible as a professional expense, and if so where does it go on the form? Thanks in advance John Baker -- << ------------------------------------------------------- > << The foregoing was not intended or written to be used, > << nor can it used, for the purpose of avoiding penalties > << that may be imposed upon the taxpayer. > << > << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting posts > << to this newsgroup as well as our anti-spamming policy > << are at www.asktax.org. > << Copyright (2007) - All rights reserved. > << ------------------------------------------------------- > |
