The first choice. You probably did nothing wrong. | Hi, I received a 1099G form that shows a dollar amount in box 2, "State income tax refunds, credits, or offsets." When I google 1099G it says this, "You received a Form 1099-G because it appears you claimed state income tax payments as an itemized deduction on Schedule A of your Federal Income Tax Return for the tax year listed in Box 3 and received a refund, credit, or offset of $10.00 or more from your California Personal Income Tax Return." My question is, does this basically mean I just filled out the Schedule A Form 1040 OR did I do something wrong? thanks! -- << ------------------------------------------------------- > << The foregoing was not intended or written to be used, > << nor can it used, for the purpose of avoiding penalties > << that may be imposed upon the taxpayer. > << > << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting posts > << to this newsgroup as well as our anti-spamming policy > << are at www.asktax.org. > << Copyright (2007) - All rights reserved. > << ------------------------------------------------------- > |
