The wash sale "window" is 61 days: 30 days before the trade, the trade day,> day wash sale rule - October 22 or October 23? and 30 days after the trade. You have to stay out of that window. So if you sell at a loss on 22 Sep, you have to wait until the 31st day to be clear, which would be 23 Oct. -- Rich Carreiro rlc-news[at]rlcarr.com -- << ------------------------------------------------------- > << The foregoing was not intended or written to be used, > << nor can it used, for the purpose of avoiding penalties > << that may be imposed upon the taxpayer. > << > << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting posts > << to this newsgroup as well as our anti-spamming policy > << are at www.asktax.org. > << Copyright (2007) - All rights reserved. > << ------------------------------------------------------- > |
