The wash sale "window" is 61 days: 30 days before the trade, the trade day,
and 30 days after the trade. You have to stay out of that window.

So if you sell at a loss on 22 Sep, you have to wait until the 31st day
to be clear, which would be 23 Oct.

Default Calculation of 30 day wash sale

If I sell a stock on Sept 22, when can I buy it back to avoid the 30 day
wash sale rule - October 22 or October 23?
