Cost of Obtaining Copies of Processed Tax Returns

ISSUE:

The cost of obtaining copies of processed tax returns will increase
to $57 on November 1, 2008.

CHANGE:

Form 4506, Request for Copy of Tax Return, is used when ordering
copies of processed tax returns. Taxpayers currently pay a $39 fee for IRS
to process these requests.

As of November 1, 2008, the cost of obtaining copies of processed
tax returns will increase from $39 to $57.
