An amended claim for a measly $150 wouldn't even move the needle on the IRS
audit Richter scale.

Well, you file an amended return - Form 1040X.

It's your money. The IRS is just happy as a lark keeping it.

Default Any reason not to refile 1040?

After sending in my tax return in April I got a corrected 1099div. The
totals are the same, but now they are qualified. So I overpaid $150.
Presumably I can refile and get a $150 refund. Is that correct?

Is there any reason (other than the nuisance...) not to do this? Does it
increase my chances of an audit or anything like that?
