Form 1041 is to report the income the estate receives.
If it is a NY estate, the income is reported on form IT205.
The NY IT205 is due the same day as the federal.
The due date depends on the estate's year end.

You should consult with your own CPA/tax professional and attorney to
determine the estate's year end.

Default Estate Income tax form for NY state

I am an executor of an estate in New York. By the end of the year, I
must ask an accountant to file form 1041 for the Fed.(per the letter
from the IRS mailed to my w/ the estate tax ID)
Is it form #205 in NY state which must also be filed? The forms on
the New York tax site are rather confusing.
And, if someone knows, does the filing date for the NY form coincide
with the Fed date in December?
Thanks Elizabeth
