Think software. The data input screen doesn't always reflect the form. Or
the code and regs.

I don't see where the form is asking for date purchased. What matters is
the date it was placed in depreciable service, which is 2005.

Default When is a rental property 'acquired' ?

I bought a new condo in 2003, lived in it two years then rented it out
in 2005. For Depreciation - Form 4562 it asks for "Date acquired?", is
it 2003 or 2005 ?
