The fund, or your broker, can't give you that with a few key strokes?

That's where I'd start.

Default Selling mutual fund tax question

Back in December, I sold my mutual fund and closed the account. The problem
is that I have not been a good record keeper, and I'm having a hard time
coming up with the "cost basis." I have original purchase documents for the
fund, statements for several years, then some gaps for other years.

Any advice on how to proceed?

Thanks!
