Yes, you can deduct miles. Don't forget about uniforms. But the rate
is 14 cents for 2007 and 2008. Hopefully they will increase the 2008
rate to 15 cents.

Default Deductible miles as registered volunteer/coach for registered on-profit youth hockey club?

Deductible miles as registered volunteer/coach for registered on-profit
youth hockey club?

Hi folks,

I just want to make sure I'm on the up-and-up.

I am a volunteer and assistant coach for our local youth hockey club.
We practiced 2 times a week and had 1 or 2 games a week.

The club is registered as a non-profit (503c? Or something like that).

Now, there is clearly a deductibility for non-profit miles.

However, is the drive to the rink for practices and games as a registered
volunteer coach considered a deductible expense at the 15 cents per mile
presently listed as the amoutn for miles?

Thanks,

Gary
