Under the "Federal Taxes" tab, click on "Topic List" and scroll down until> not seem to have any place to enter the estimated taxes already I > paid. Probably, there's a way you can get there just by stepping through the interview from the beginning, but I'm not sure of the exact sequence. In general, it's a good idea to scan through the Topic List carefully to make sure nothing has been overlooked. -- << ------------------------------------------------------- > << The foregoing was not intended or written to be used, > << nor can it used, for the purpose of avoiding penalties > << that may be imposed upon the taxpayer. > << > << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting posts > << to this newsgroup as well as our anti-spamming policy > << are at www.asktax.org. > << Copyright (2007) - All rights reserved. > << ------------------------------------------------------- > |

However, I'd be surprised if it isn't in there somewhere... have you tried the on-line help? The good news is, eventually you will get the overpayment if any returned to you, I think the IRS is pretty good about that. -Mark Bole -- << ------------------------------------------------------- > << The foregoing was not intended or written to be used, > << nor can it used, for the purpose of avoiding penalties > << that may be imposed upon the taxpayer. > << > << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting posts > << to this newsgroup as well as our anti-spamming policy > << are at www.asktax.org. > << Copyright (2007) - All rights reserved. > << ------------------------------------------------------- > |

| I am doing the taxes this year and I noticed that Turbotax Online does not seem to have any place to enter the estimated taxes already I paid. Figured since I paid estimated taxes this past year that it would ask me what I have already paid and then it would deduct it from Turbotaxes final figures. How am I supposed to count what I already paid them against what I am entering into Turbotax now. Seems like I would be overpaying. Example: Say I've paid $3000 in Federal estimated taxes for the year. Now I do my taxes for years end in Turbotax. Once I've completed my entries into Turbotax, it says I owe $6000 in Federal. Since Turbotax does not seem to have a are that asks me to enter my already paid estimated taxes aren't I basically then paying $9000 in taxes total when I should only owe $3000. I thought it would calculate the $6000 then deduct the already paid estimated from that thus only showing me owing $3000. What am I missing here. Thanks Adam -- << ------------------------------------------------------- > << The foregoing was not intended or written to be used, > << nor can it used, for the purpose of avoiding penalties > << that may be imposed upon the taxpayer. > << > << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting posts > << to this newsgroup as well as our anti-spamming policy > << are at www.asktax.org. > << Copyright (2007) - All rights reserved. > << ------------------------------------------------------- > |
