I got an e-mail with the same information. The distribution schedule you
received is the one IRS used 7 years ago for the 2001 rebates.

This year's schedule has not been announced, however IRS Acting Commissioner
Linda Stiff has been quoted in various press stories saying the first batch
of rebate checks will be direct deposited on Friday, May 2 to the same
accounts taxpayers listed on their 2007 returns for their regular refunds.
Taxpayers who did not request direct deposit and taxpayers who received any
type of refund anticipation loan product will receive paper checks. Paper
checks should start going out in batches with the first mailing taking place
the second or third Friday in May.

Over the course of this month, IRS will mail Notice 1377 to 130 million
taxpayers. You can read a copy of the notice at the link below.

http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-utl/econo...ent_notice.pdf

For official information about the rebates, go to irs.gov and click on
"Rebate Questions?".

Like the song goes, sortof, I also know "friends in low places."

But seriously, IRS has a bunch of email listing one can sign up for.
Check their web site.

This just in via email from IRS late this afternoon:

IRS will begin in March to send out letters to all with details for
taxpayers.

I saw where today the Prez gleefully said those pesky checks will begin
being sent out during the second week of May.

If they run the program like the last time, it goes weekly, by the last
number of your SSN. So if you're SSN ends in a 9, you'll be among the last
folks to get a check in July some time, maybe early August.

which is a lot different that a May start.
