You don't qualify for the credit unless, in 05 or 06, you qualified as
head of household under CRTC Sec. 17042 by maintaining a household for
a qualified individual who died in 05 or 06. If you were not HOH in
05 or 06, you don't qualify as senior HOH in 07. Cal. Rev. & Tax.
Cd. §17054.7.

Default Calif "Senior Head of Household vs. TaxCut

Did my taxes using TaxCut Prem and had the following issues:

1. No problems with Federal taxes. (A first for me)
2. There was NO prompt to enter the 2007 Estimated Calif tax paid in
the Calif tax forms - I had to enter it under payment with request for
extension. (I paid everything before April 15, 07 and filed no
extensions). This seemed to work - with a credit in the correct
place on the forms.

3. It is unclear if I may qualify "under Calif tax only" as their
"Senior Head of Household Credit" The qualifications that I see are
only that you are over 65 and your adjusted gross income is less than
$60,791 for 07. True for me.
The Qualified as Head of Household in 05 or 06 would seem not relevant
(I made no such claims then)

I have only supported myself.

DO I QUALIFY for this deduction?

Joe
