Unless there are issues beyond the tax related to the IRA,
she will only have a problem if you do not pay the
additional tax. If she has concerns about questions of
fraud, these are unfounded. The IRS is not going to do
anything except process the return and send you a bill.

A canceled check for the additional tax due, followed by a
canceled check for the interest they'll bill you for should
take care of it.

Since an amended tax return must be done on paper and mailed
in, make an extra copy of it and a copy of YOUR check for
the balance due and deliver it to her. When the check
clears, make a copy of it for her, too.

Default Married Filing Jointly Tax Responsibility?

I made a mistake on our 2005 Fed Tax return. I did not move
over money to an IRA. I thought I did but after looking at
my records it was never moved over. I will be filing an
amended return.

My questions is, my wife is a bit of a nervous nelly. I
want to take 100% responsilbity for the return. We filed
online so we never signed anything and she lets me do the
taxes.

I just would like to be able to clahm her worries by having
something that lets her know she is protected.

Thanks

Mark
