You are too gentle, Dick.

"2) Become an Independent Marketer. Cost: $100 [Download the
PTN Independent Marketer Agreement] If the Independent Marketer
decides to become a PTN client at the same time as becoming an
Independent Marketer and pays the Client Fee, then the $100
Independent Marketer Fee is waived. Independent Marketer
enrollment extends between April 16th and November 30th of each
year. Tax preparation, however, is only available to PTN
clients. Some individuals may decide they want to test their
ability to enroll clients before becoming a PTN client
themselves. The compensation plan will pay non-client
Independent Marketers $20 per client enrolled as of November
30th on three levels of referrals. PTN compensation is paid
annually on or before December 15th."

After reading the above part of their website I hold the
opinion that PrePaid Tax Network is just another pyramid scheme
similar to NADN and Renaissance The Tax People.

I could be wrong ... but I doubt it.

They are so new they were lauched on July 12th - the day of
the Baseball All-Star game. After reading part of their
website, I have concluded they are running a client referral
market plan. But their fee is $550 which is more than
attractive for taxpayers with complex returns and overpriced
for the average taxpayer.

IMRHO (the R is for rarely) the average taxpreparer could do
better by paying someone to go door to door with flyers. I'm
certain I did not grasp all the details, but just enough to
be turned off.

Default Heard of PrePaid Tax Network?

Has anyone every heard, or have experience with a company out
of Utah called PrePaid Tax Network. They are a new company (I
believe) that offer a prepaid tax preparation service to their
clients through local CPA firms. I would be interested if you
have heard of them or any experience with them. Any help would
be appreciated.
