IRS Form 5558 will give you a 2-1/2 month extension (July 31
to Oct 15) if filed in a timely manner.

Default IRS rules / extension for filings

IRS rules / extension for filings
*******************************
I heard that the extension dates for many IRS tax deadlines
have changed.

Like the auto extension for 1040 tax returns in now in
October...correct ?

I have to do an extension for my brother for his "5500 EZ:"
....keogh plan ..one person plan

Is July 31st still the date or has that changed too? He
would like to extend it to Oct 15 if possible. What form
to use for this?

Can any one pls help me or direct me to appropriate page on
any site?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Kalpana
