I have been known to be dyslexic at times.
Hey, I'm only human!

When I'm pressed for a SSN even though
it's-not-of-their-f*ing-business, I use Charles Manson (as
published in Helter Skelter) or Hilda Whitcher (Google her
name for the story).

Check out the SSN FAQ at:

http://www.cpsr.org/prevsite/cpsr/pr...ndex.html/view
OR http://tinyurl.com/lew6x (added by Moderator)

especially the two sections "Dealing with Government
Organizations" and "How to deal with private
(non-government) entities when they ask for your SSN".

Rick, I would think that even giving a wrong number would
result in you unknowingly providing them with someone's real
number...I do not know under what circumstances you are
speaking of, but I would venture to say that giving a wrong
number would not be a good or right thing to do...If you
really have an issue with giving your SSN ask if there is
someother identifier that will suffice...

You sure about that?

It's never a good idea to lie as part of a business
transaction. If you think they don't have a legal reason
for asking, why not just refuse to give them your SSAN?

Default soc sec #s

Hi, with all the trouble private groups have keeping soc sec
#s secret and with them still having no problem asking for
them, in what situations would it be legal to give an
incorrect #? Since its illegal for them to ask for any
reason other than gov benifits or interest bearing accounts?
This is just for those companys that ask for it for non
legal reasons (identification)
