If the interest meets the requirements of Section 216(a)(2),> individual tenants so that they can claim a mortgage-interest > deduction? then the answer is yes. The IRS has ruled in Temporary Regulation 1.163-10T(q)(3) that such interest can count as home mortgage interest, subject to the same limitations as other interest. -- Ed Zollars, CPA Podcast located at http://ezollars.libsyn.com << ================================================== ===== > << The foregoing is intended for educational purposes only > << and does NOT constitute legal OR professional advice. > << > << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org. > << Copyright (2006) - All rights reserved. > << ================================================== ===== > |

(Actually, I don't think they gave out the official form but a substitute specifying the amount of real estate taxes and mortgage interest per share, as well contribution to capital (increase in cost basis).)
