A charitable deduction flows through to Sch A itemized of
the partners. However, assuming you're not foisting a
vehicle with mechanical problems to a charity for their own
unwitting use, the charity will be selling the vehicle.
Your deduction is limited to what they get for it. The
balance of what it cost is a nondeductible, personal loss.
See IRS Pub 526, page 7.

If the charity keeps the car for its exempt purpose, then
the deduction will be the FMV, as if sold to a private party
and mechanical condition disclosed.

Default LLP assistance, LLP will aquire partners schedule C's and more

LLP assistance, LLP will taken over the partners schedule
C's and more.

My Son and myself formed a LLP to roll our slightly
overlapping Schedule C's together and one I do with my wife.

In the first part of the year we purchased a 1999 DeVille
from a private party as the LLP.

This vehicle was never used for a company or similar.

Since we had the vehicle it has suffered mechanical
failures.

Can the vehicle be donated and the remainder written off on
the income tax?

Since its a LLP we would write off our share.
