I would be surprised if anyone can dig up a 2002 return in
hours except the person that prepared it (and even that is
doubtful in some cases).

Thanks for the info folks. Unfortunately my dad's AGI was
too low those years, we didn't even pay any income tax,
mostly self employment tax. So no luck in getting that $3000
for those two years. Wish I could have claimed it (I was
dependent), such a waste, with me footing the bill with all
those school loans. Thanks anyways everyone.

Probably legit. I've heard of them and the mortgage broker
next door to me uses one. I can perform the same services,
but would charge about 35$. How much do they charge?

Go to your nearest IRS walkin office and get a printout of
the numbers on each line of your return. You will need a
picture ID You might wait a while but you'll get it for
free.

a tax pro with access to IRS eservices may be able to help
you if you have a prior year AGI

Default Need info from 2002 tax return, are these legitimate sites (tax9er.com)?

I've done it to myself, but I only have until Monday to
amend 2002 return to claim the Hope tax credit that we
neglected to claim originally. However, we can't find the
2002 1040 return. So I've found several sites such as
http://www.tax9er.com and http://www.credittechnologies.com
that claim to retrieve your return as far back as 2002, and
deliver it either the same day or the next day. I'm aware of
the form 4506-T, but I don't have time for that.

Are these sites legitimate, particularly tax9er.com? How can
they promise same day delivery? Thanks all,

-Josh
