Nope. It's only deductible in the year paid. Paid in 2004,
deductible only on your 2004 return and no place else.

No, you can only deduct the interest payments actually made
in 2005.

Which is as it should be.

Nope. You paid it in 2004. So it gets deducted in 2004 or
not at all.

Default 2004 Mortgage Interest

In need of some advice on a small tax question. I made my
January 2005 house payment on 12/31/04 so the interest did
not appear on my 2005 1098 form. I did not itemize my
deductions on my 2004 taxes, so is it possible for me to add
the interest from that payment to my 2005 interest total?
