We can not email taxpayer related data outside the organization. We can ~Secure/encrypt~ an email with sensitive but unclassified information (taxpayer data) to others ~within~ the service only, ideally all employees are enrolled in SEMS, but alas, some are not, they are the unproductive/inefficient elements of the organization. I have my addy on my business card, I make it clear to my contacts, they are free to email me general communications, but I will always reply by: phone, fax, US mail or face to face, but never by email. These improvements will never be appreciated by all, transition & adoption of the medium is a multi-generational process, also ensuring Identities of correspondents outside the ~!GREAT WALL~! is another generational issue, even people who are very tech savvy have not established fully authentic identities. << ================================================== ===== > << The foregoing is intended for educational purposes only > << and does NOT constitute legal OR professional advice. > << > << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org. > << Copyright (2006) - All rights reserved. > << ================================================== ===== > |

Just like active duty military, civil servants and retirees> allowing taxpayers to pull the information at their own > discretion. thereof may acces myPay.com for tax statements, etc. Just today I went to that web site because a client didn't have his 1099R, and no where could I even find a phone number to call to order a duplicate via snail mail. And at his age, I don't think he should be opting exclusively for online delivery. He doesn't even have a computer! | Even better, go to your nearest IRS Taxpayer Assitance Center and ask for a transcript of your return, they can print one out while you wait. Ummmm.....no. And I hope they never alalow on-line accessto my tax returns. You can however, request a copy of your return from the IRS (or a transcript if that will do). Use Form 4506 available here http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506.pdf for an exact copy (including attachments). It's $39 for each return (type/year). So be sure to include a check. I hope you have patience, because it's been nearly 9 years since anyone touched it. -- Paul Thomas, CPA paulthomascpapc[at]bellsouth.net << ================================================== ===== > << The foregoing is intended for educational purposes only > << and does NOT constitute legal OR professional advice. > << > << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org. > << Copyright (2006) - All rights reserved. > << ================================================== ===== > |
