Sounds pretty weak to me. What is "unforseen" about going
back to school?

Default Unforseen circumstances

My friends sold their principal residence and
had not lived there for 2 out of 5 years. One of
them decided to return to school for an advanced
degree that would require full time attendance. They
could not continue to afford the house payment on
one income. Could this be "unforseen circumstances"
that would allow them to avoid the gain on the sale
