Unless you are a business or estate, no 1099-MISC is
required for your attorney. Just pay the bill and keep a
copy of the invoice.

In any case, the 1099-MISC (and 1096 transmittal form) must
be filed using the "red ink" forms available from the IRS
(and most big box stationary stores). You CANNOT use the
forms you download from the IRS or other Internet sites.
There are some online sites that will prepare the form for
you (on the correct blank form) and mail it in, but you will
have to Google to find them.

If you Google something like "1099 transmission service"
you'll find some, but it will cost you money you don't need
to spend.

The 1099 can be hand prepared, but you have to get the
actual form from IRS (or maybe a business supply store).
You cannot file the printed .pdf version.

Default Is there an easy/online way to fill out a 1099-MISC?

I need to do a 1099-MISC for my attorney. I download the PDF
form and instructions from IRS.gov. I can sloppily put the
text on each of the copies using Acrobat, but I was
wondering if there is some sort of online form filling
option?

Thanks!
John
