| TaxCut printing problem resolved. It turned out the it prints out a format for electronic filing which, apparently what my state (Connecticut) wanted and which looked not familiar to me. A five minute call to the DRS straightened that out. Too bad that TaxCut support people were running me in circles without ever even mentioning that this could the issue. << ================================================== ===== > << The foregoing is intended for educational purposes only > << and does NOT constitute legal OR professional advice. > << > << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org. > << Copyright (2006) - All rights reserved. > << ================================================== ===== > |

This is known to happen with some programs. If you can't find the conflicting software on your computer, the solution is to install TaxCut on another computer and then open and print the data file you have already created. BTW - what operating system are you using? If Win 2000 or XP, does TC require that the program be installed when logged in as the Administrator? (I don't use TC so I don't know, but I'm told that TT does require this.) If this is required and you did not follow the instructions, then some parts of the software, such as the fonts used for printing, may not have been properly installed in your user area. -- Vic Roberts Replace xxx with vdr in e-mail address.

I don't understand how PDF995 can do a job a producing a printed return in a format suitable for filing if the layout information is messed up by TaxCut. I will still have to direct TaxCut to print to a "printer". Would PDF995 show up as a printer option? Could you kindly be more specific here before I go through the motion of downloading and installing additional software. This darn thing has given me more grief than it's worth it.

| I bought TaxCut 2005 Deluxe + State and can not get my Connecticut state return to print correctly. It just does not print the graphical format needed for filing. Tried it on three different printers, spend over an hour with their Tech Support, re-installed, changed printer settings and nothing worked. They said to escalate the issue but the answer may come in 72 hours or later. This will be my last year with TaxCut. If anyone has a solution to the problem I appreciate.
