The RECIPIENT does not file form 1099-R. Include the> Do I need to file form 1099-R? interest paid on your 1040 form (possibly using Schedule B, if high enough) The 1099-R is for pension distributions, and is filed by the payor of such amounts. A 1099-INT is for INTEREST paid by a bank, credit union, etc. None of these forms is filed by the recipient. << ================================================== ===== > << The foregoing is intended for educational purposes only > << and does NOT constitute legal OR professional advice. > << > << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org. > << Copyright (2006) - All rights reserved. > << ================================================== ===== > |

If you question is, "do I need to send the forms 1099 along with my> Do I need to file form 1099-R? form 1040 to the IRS", the answer is "only if there is any federal tax withheld".
