Money put into a Flex account was never taxed to begin with,
so I do not believe there is any reason you should be able
to claim this "lost" money on your tax return. However, I
am not a tax pro so I will bow to their superior knowledge
on this subject :-)

Default flexible spending forfeiture

If I was dumb and overestimated my dependent care allowance,
resulting in a forfeiture from not being able to spend it
all, are there any tax consequences related to the forfeited
amounts? Can I claim them on income taxes somehow?

Thanks in advance.
