The question is moot, as the mileage is not deductible.> have any legal right to request the information from my > employer to reconstruct those trips home, I know they keep > the paperwork on site at the office. | I was working for a company through most of 04 and to march 05 and they were paying me 0.33 cents per mile reimbursment....I do satellite installs so i do a ton of miles a day (100+). They told me I couldn't claim miles back but now I find out that I could claim the difference since the 2004 rate was 37.5 Also they did not pay me for trips home back from my last job which sometimes could be 60 to 70 miles a day. I have 2 questions. 1: Can I claim my miles from my last job of the day to my home (my next employer DID pay me for trips home). 2: Since I did not make a milage log for those trips do I have any legal right to request the information from my employer to reconstruct those trips home, I know they keep the paperwork on site at the office. (I was fired from that job and I dont know if they will cooperate with this request). This may constitute a considerable amount of money for me and would be thankful for any help...I went to HR block and they didn't know. << ================================================== ===== > << The foregoing is intended for educational purposes only > << and does NOT constitute legal OR professional advice. > << > << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org. > << Copyright (2006) - All rights reserved. > << ================================================== ===== > |
