Seriously, that is the best way to stop it. year except possibly w/ a "change in family status". while you're putting away double the amount each pay period that you intended, your deductions will stop when you hit the maximum you designated so you'll hit the max twice as fast but then the deductions will stop and you'll get a boost to your take-home pay. << ================================================== ===== > << The foregoing is intended for educational purposes only > << and does NOT constitute legal OR professional advice. > << > << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org. > << Copyright (2006) - All rights reserved. > << ================================================== ===== > |

| I made a mistake in specifying the amount to be contributed monthly into my flexible spending account for child care. I indicated $400 each month instead of $200 because of an oversight. Only one month's contribution has gone in so far, but my employer says that once I have indicated the amount at the start of the year, I cannot change the amount for the rest of the year. Is this correct? I am not asking for any change to what has been contributed so far! Is there a possible way out?
