Default Re: Amending 2004 Return

Check the left hand column (the original return's numbers)
for correctly entering the original tax, the original
withholding and the original refund OR amount paid the first
time.

At least that's where MY old errors used to be............

Default Amending 2004 Return

I am amending my 2004 return using TurboTax and I am adding
$2501 of mortgage interest/points which were left off of my
2004 return. I have gone through several times and while I
think I am safe to assume that this should result in an
additional refund, I keep ending up with a balance due of
$4,275 -- needless to say, I haven't submitted the amended
1040X yet. Any ideas on what my problem might be (besides
that I am not using a professional to do my taxes)?
