You are correct. If you drive for hire, you must take the
actual expenses, not milage.

Default mileage deduction

I have a van that I use to haul Amish workers to their jobs
sight. About 200 miles per day 5 days a week, about 50,000
miles a year. Can I use the standard mileage deductions or
would I have to use only acutual expenses. Driving Amish is
a big business where I live, you can gross over $ 30000.00 a
year and everyone I talk to, said they where claiming
mileage, as this is a much larger deduction, But I though I
read if it was used transportation the rules where
different.
