| I recently got married (Dec 2005 ) abroad. I am a non-resident alien on a work visa. Can I claim a tax credit and file a tax return jointly if my wife is not in the US ? Further, she was in the US last year on a tourist visa but does NOT have an SSN or any other US tax identification. She has not worked in the US. Thanks for you time and patience Regards Ram << ================================================== ===== > << The foregoing is intended for educational purposes only > << and does NOT constitute legal OR professional advice. > << > << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org. > << Copyright (2006) - All rights reserved. > << ================================================== ===== > |
