Why? Let's not lose sight of the fact that your tax> results in 26 2-3 share purchases every year. =20 > Unfortunately, in a year when I sell some of these stocks, > in Turbotax, I have to fill out one "Employee Stock Purchase > Plan Worksheet" to calculate the gains on every one of > these small purchases software is there to serve you, not the other way around. Since you're tracking all the information already, all you need is one Schedule D entry per sale (two if it's a long/short term mix). This assumes that you know what numbers should go on Schedule D. If you don't, it would be a good idea to learn how it works rather than trusting software. -- Phil Marti Clarksburg, MD << ================================================== ===== > << The foregoing is intended for educational purposes only > << and does NOT constitute legal OR professional advice. > << > << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org. > << Copyright (2006) - All rights reserved. > << ================================================== ===== > |

| My ESPP purchases stocks on every 2-week pay period. This results in 26 2-3 share purchases every year. =20 Unfortunately, in a year when I sell some of these stocks, in Turbotax, I have to fill out one "Employee Stock Purchase Plan Worksheet" to calculate the gains on every one of these small purchases I made a spreadsheet, but I have to enter the purchase information for every pay period, and then transcribe the results into the worksheets. I'd like software that lets me simply input all the shares purchased, what I paid for them, and the dates, and let it do all the work. Does this exist? I'll need this next year, since I plan to sell about 350 shares soon to help buy a new car.. This will require filling out over 100 worksheets in 2007 with TT.=20 -- Email reply: please remove one letter from each side of "[at]" Spammers are Scammers.
