That's Google, not AOL. And it's laziness on my part. If
you click on "options" at the top and then on "reply," you
get the previous post, as above. If you just click on
"reply" at the bottom, you don't.

It did take me a while to figure that out, though.

Except that you don't seem to be quoting the post to which
you are responding.

When did you go over to the dark side?

I'm on AOL, and I access mtm through Google all the time.
No problem that I can see.

Drop AOL and get a real ISP?!

Another alternative is to use a free newsreading program
such as Outhouse Excuse (Outlook Express). There are
services such as news.individual.net that are very cheap to
use (I think it was $12/year).

I don't know AOL's problem with google. But one problem
with them is that the default response feature does not
quote the prior post.

What is necessary is for the responder to first click on
"show options" and then click on "reply" to have the prior
post quoted automatically.

I've been on AOL for almost 15 years now and have never had
a problem reading this newgroup, before or after AOL dropped
newsgroups. I now read it through Google without a problem.
Now, it was a little tricky to find it and then subscribe
to it, but even that wasn't a big problem.

My suggestion to those who are having problems reading this
on AOL would be to go to "Google" and then "groups" and just
search until you find it and *THEN* click the heart to save
it as a favorite. It also helps if you sign in so that you
can see how many posts you have not read.

Hope this helps.

Default What's the problem with AOL

Since AOL dropped newsgroups, AOL users are claiming they
are having a problem with Google. Does anyone understand
the problem and know a solution.
