Sorry, no. With a SEPP arrangement, your withdrawal is
constrained by the required payment calculated, NO MORE and
NO LESS. To do otherwise voids the arrangement and you will
be subject to the early withdrawal penalty from the
beginning of the SEPP.

Default withdraw from an IRA with substantially equal periodic payments initiated

Hi,

I have an IRA that I have initiated substantially equal
periodic payments (sepp). Is this the only distributiion I
can take from this IRA for the year?

For instance, if the sepp is $30,000, can I withdraw $40,000
from the account with $30,000 being the sepp and the $10,000
an extra distribution that I want to use for higher education
expenses and avoid the 10% penalty?

Or, if the sepp is $30,000, can I withdraw $40,000 from the
account with $30,000 being the sepp and the $10,000 converted
to a Roth IRA?

TIA

Bob
