Nope--I need to give 1099s to about 10 or 12 people and have
to do a few W2s for employees. How about any free or very
low cost downloads of software to do the 1099s? Thanks for
the responses.

All the answers were probably technically correct, but I bet
the question was really "I received a 1099-Misc, a 1099-INT
and some W2's last year. Is there a place where I can
e-file my income tax for free?"

I don't know about forms 1099, but you may file forms W-2 on
line after appling to social security adm. at ssa.gov They
do only allow you 5 minutes to complete each form W-2. I
get interrupted too much to do them in that amount of time,
so I still do them on the computer and mail them in.
