A corporation can only apply for an EIN after it is formed.
If the on line "faciliator" is asking for an EIN, it's
putting the cart before the horse. What is the web site?

I don't know what online form you're talking about, but I
don't see how you can get an EIN before you have the
corporate entity established.

If you have to get an EIN before the state will approve
articles of incorporation, then I guess you'll just have to
hope that the name you choose isn't already taken. If it
is, you'll have to do a name change (NOT get a new EIN) with
the IRS.

Default Employer ID Numbers (EINs) Question

Hello,

I'm planing to forming a corporation in Massachusetts and need
to know, whether I have to first apply for EIN or first form a
corporation.

The online form is requesting for a EIN number, but i'm not
sure whether I need to have the EIN first.

-thanks
