(But this is only my guess.) What he wants is a way to quantify his time filling out the forms so he can take a deduction next year for "tax preparation" fees (even though self prepared.) grin ChEAr$, Harlan Lunsford, EA n LA << ================================================== ===== > << The foregoing is intended for educational purposes only > << and does NOT constitute legal OR professional advice. > << > << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org. > << Copyright (2005) - All rights reserved. > << ================================================== ===== > |

Even though vigorously opposed by tax professionals of several organizations, IRS commissioner Everson is adament (adamnment?) about retaining these misleading figures. And he, a (former?) CPA, too! I believe what the OP is asking is if there is a web site that will allow him to calculate the fee for a return based on the forms required. The web site would use the IRS average cost of preparation. Seeing how short the chart is I would recommend the OP just input the information into Excel or just use the chart as is. << ================================================== ===== > << The foregoing is intended for educational purposes only > << and does NOT constitute legal OR professional advice. > << > << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org. > << Copyright (2005) - All rights reserved. > << ================================================== ===== > |

I believe the OP is asking about an on-line calculator that allows an individual to input the form numbers of the forms he must fill out for a given tax return, and then calculate the time required for that return.
