In fact, you will almost certainly *have* to set up accounts since your business isn't a perfect fit with either of the 2 choices. I'd pick (2), on the theory that selling to stores is> hope to sell it online and distribute it to stores. > I have to choose between one of the following two categories > (other choices aren't even close): > 1: Retail:General or > 2: Wholesale/distribution wholesale rahter than resale. Many wholesalers also sell retail, but are still considered wholesalers. To further clarify this choice, get a resale license from the state. Good luck. The good thing is, it doesn't matter.> with an accounting program, filling in the interview > part...and I don't know what type of business mine is! > Here's what my business does: I invented a card game and I > hope to sell it online and distribute it to stores. > I have to choose between one of the following two categories > (other choices aren't even close): > 1: Retail:General or > 2: Wholesale/distribution > Any ideas on which I should choose? I can't choose both. Since you will be selling at the retail level, select "retail/general". The important thing is to set-up the accounts properly and to account for everything in the proper manner. If you don't know much about accounting, consider taking a class on business bookkeeping/accounting at the local college. Possibly in their continuing education program. Most I've seen are quite good at covering most of the bases. -- Paul A. | I have a small startup company and am just getting started with an accounting program, filling in the interview part...and I don't know what type of business mine is! Here's what my business does: I invented a card game and I hope to sell it online and distribute it to stores. I have to choose between one of the following two categories (other choices aren't even close): 1: Retail:General or 2: Wholesale/distribution Any ideas on which I should choose? I can't choose both.
