Some offices will give a test. Pass it and you are hired.
Knowing a useful second language is also worth some credit.

I took HRB's course and found it very helpful. I don't know
about HJ. I was going from private to public CPA practice
and it helped remind me of the 1040 rules.

I don't believe this is true. You have to pass their exam
but you don't need to take the course.
