You can even get that number by applying for in at http://www.irs.gov. Search that website for the correct place to do that. If you can't find it, let me know and I will be more specific. | I recently formed a single member California LLC, and have no employees. According to the IRS website and brochures, I don't NEED to apply for a separate EIN for the LLC, because it is a disregarded entitiy for tax purposes and has no employees, and I can use my personal SSN for the LLC. However, although there is no NEED for it, CAN I apply for and use one anyway? If so, can I use it for all purposes (bank account opening, business license, W9 to customers etc.)? I just would like to keep things as separate as possible and don't really like my personal SSN to be floating around on W9's at customers etc. Anybody any input? Thanks, Etienne << ================================================== ===== > << The foregoing is intended for educational purposes only > << and does NOT constitute legal OR professional advice. > << > << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org. > << Copyright (2005) - All rights reserved. > << ================================================== ===== > |
