as you might guess, this info is available at
www.ftb.ca.gov. It has forms and publications going back
many years, including tax rate schedules. I don't know
about current and future years.

You can also consider contacting the FTB taxpayer advocate.
They have been surprisingly responsive (all things
considered).

Go to www.sisterstates.com, select California, and you will
be taken to the official CA tax site.

Default Where to find Calif tax rate schedules?

Sigh: both the federal 1040 and Calif 540
instructions have eliminated the full XYZ
tax rate schedules. Instead, the tax rate
worksheets start where the tax tables end.

This makes it difficult to update a spreadsheet
lookup table.

Fortunately, the 1040-ES instructions still
have XYZ tax rate schedules.

But the Calif 540-ES instructions do not,
because the Calif 540-ES relies on the tax
tables/schedules from the 540 instuctions
for the previous year.

Where can I find online Calif tax rate
schedules for the previous (or current) year?

Preferrably an FTB or other ca.gov website.

I am referring to tables of the form "if
taxable income exceeds $X, but is not more
than $Y, the tax $Z plus W% of the amount
over $X".
