Unfortunately, a furnace used in a business in 39 year
property and not eligible for the 179 expense. Keep it
separate on your depreciation schedule so you can write off
the remaining balance when you replace it in the future.

Clarification please. what kind of furnace? one in the
factory for heating metal or glass? or one in the office
complex for heating administrative offices?

Can you section 179 expense a new furnace used in a
business? If not does it qualify for bonus depreciation? I
am refering to the 2004 tax year. Thanks.
