I looked your information up and find you are correct, but
only back to 1997 when IRC 2033A when through.

I am look for a benefit that dates back to 1979!

It was a higher exemption up to I believe 1.3 mil.

Default Estate Tax/Stock in closely held corporation?

It may not be true any more, but there used to be some
estate tax advantage if more than half the estate consisted
of stock in a closely held corporation.

Anyone know what that advantage is/was? Thanks.
