Yes, it is called an "amended tax return", filed on form
1040X. You have 3 years to file the amendment and claim an
additional refund.

You can do it any time up to 3 years after the deadline for
the original tax return. File form 1040X, Amended Tax
Return.

Yes, Form 1040X. You have three years to file it, but why
wait?

Yes. File Form 1040-X. Its instructions tell you whatever
else needs to be filed.

You may amend your Federal tax return by using a Form 1040X.
You may acquire this form at http://www.irs.gov. Find on
that website where you may download forms and instructions.
Get that form and depending on what State you live in you
may be able to amend that State's return also (if that State
has an individual income tax).

Use 1040X. You can do so up to 3 years after the due date
for 2004 returns, or until 4/15/2008.

In your situation, you would note the change in amount of
deductions, explain it on page two by reference to the
appropriate line number, and also attach a revised Schedule
A with the proper figures.

Default Re-doing taxes for 2004, can I make corrections after submitting?

I already submitted my 2004 taxes, however, after getting
some more clarifications on deductions, I noticed I could
submit another $1200 in deductions.

I'm assuming there is a form for re-adjustment to previously
submitted taxes as long as it is done before the next tax
time?

Thanks
